Multi-Spindle Heads

ERI America is proud to be the exclusive North American Partner of MPA Srl of Bologna, Italy.  One of the product groups that MPA specializes in is Multi-Spindle Heads.  Multi-Spindle Heads are heads with adjustable distances between the axis.  They are designed for manufacturing process optimization, reducing cycle time and downtime, providing a highly elevated flexibility level with the ability to be configured into different geometric shapes. They are available in CAT, BT, HSK, MT, cylindrical and most popular interfaces.

The three different types of Multi-Spindle heads are:  Drilling Heads with adjustable distance between the axis, Milling Heads with adjustable distance between the axis, and Modular Heads with reposition-able distance between the axis.

Drilling Multi-Spindle Heads with Adjustable Distance

Drilling Multi-Spindle Heads are ideal for drilling, tapping, and countersinking.  They are compact and lightweight with a heat treated aluminum alloy housing and heat treated alloy steel kinematic rotation with needle or roller bearings.  They can be used on conventional machines by utilizing the interfacing connection kit, composed of a quill clamp, driver, and joint.  To choose the correct product, the following should be identified: maximum clamping capacity, distance between hole axis centers, and hole pattern.


Milling Multi-Spindle Heads with Adjustable Distance

Milling Multi-Spindle Heads are particularly suitable for chamfering gears and general milling applications.  They are solid and compact with heat treated aluminum alloy housing and heat treated alloy steel kinematic rotation with needle or roller bearings. They can be used on conventional machines by utilizing the interfacing connection kit, composed of a quill clamp, driver, and joint.  To choose the correct product, the following should be identified: maximum clamping capacity, distance between hole axis centers, and hole pattern.

Modular Multi-Spindle Heads with Adjustable Distance

Modular Heads with repositioning distance between the axis, are designed for manufacturing process optimization, reducing cycle time and downtime.  They offer the flexibility of an Adjustable Head Multi-Spindle head with the functionality of a fixed head.
Their design allows you to create different geometric shapes by simply replacing the spindle holder plate disc, delivering excellent  flexibility at a reasonable price.
They are compact and lightweight with heat treated, aluminum alloy housing and heat treated alloy steel kinematic rotation with needle or roller bearings.  They can be used on conventional machines by utilizing the interfacing connection kit, composed of a quill clamp, driver, and joint.  To choose the correct product, the following should be identified:  maximum clamping capacity, distance between hole axis centers, and hole pattern.
